Phoebe and Brian’s Marion Wedding

I love when a couple chooses a wedding venue with a lot of meaning. The place that Phoebe and Brian chose for their Marion wedding really had a special place in their hearts. The Hermitage, the name of the property, has been in Phoebe’s family for generations. You can feel a sense of history in the house, the land, and the water. We had a fabulous day at not just one, but two cocktail hours, a boat ride, and a festive tented reception.

So much of this event is lovely, and the images reflect so well the celebration as a whole. :) Well done, Joyelle!

Thanks, Laura. And yes, that was a cake made of cheese wheels!! The family owns a dairy farm so they are all about good cheese.

Boston City Hall Wedding

Being one of the only witnesses at someone’s wedding is such an honor.  Xiaoman and Denis had 3 other guests plus me at their intimate ceremony at Boston’s City Hall. But even with only three guests, there was plenty of laughter, tears, and emotion. We then headed to Boston University where they met during grad school, to take some photos around campus and on the rooftop, which had amazing views of the Back Bay and the Charles River.

What a delightful wedding! I loved the shot of them going down the stairs in City hall and the horizontal of them in the rain. Such beautiful work, as always :)

Thanks, Connie!

A Boston Public Library Engagement Session

This was shockingly the first time I had photographed in the courtyard of the Boston Public Library, and I had no idea what I was missing. The light and the space are gorgeous! I’m so glad that Ally had suggested it for her and Jason’s engagement session. We started at the BPL, then strolled the South End, and it was great getting to know them and more about their life in California, and talk about their wedding which is set for next November.

A Boston Wedding | Shida + Wakiko

I often work with clients who, in addition to getting married, are in the middle of other major life transitions as well. I met Shida and Wakiko literally right after Wakiko moved to Boston to be with Shida. They had just returned their moving van right before our meeting! Clearly they are perfect for each other, because their wedding at the Four Seasons in Boston was full of such an amazing outpouring of laughter and tears by everyone who attended.

These are beautiful pictures of two beautiful people!

Codman Estate Wedding | Remy + Carson

Remy and Carson’s wedding was a true family affair. Remy is med student in Atlanta, and Carson is a med student in Kentucky, so all the planning was marvelously done in a few short months by Remy’s parents Bob and Cindy. Remy’s 21-year-old brother was their officiant, Carson’s brother played a guitar solo, and Carson’s family all travelled up from Kentucky for a warm, sentimental, and fun day at the Codman Estate.

It was a pleasure watching Joyelle at work; her focus was on the couple and their guests, and she was completely unobstrusive at all times yet got these beautiful and candid shots.

Joyelle - July 1, 2013 - 3:56 pm

Thank you, Deborah, for the kind words!
