Happy New Year! Here’s to a fabulous 2014. Hope you dance ’til the shoes come off.
Amanda and Toby’s Willowdale Estate wedding was an amazing end to my wedding season this year. Willowdale is such a charming venue with its beautiful stonework, Arts and Crafts interior, and all of the nooks and crannies to photograph on its grounds. In fact, it was the grounds that convinced Amanda to have their wedding there. They are both outdoorsy people and they loved Willowdale’s property and the fact that it’s located in a state park. Amanda and Toby live in California now, but they wanted to come back for a true fall New England wedding.
You may remember Christine and Jon from their dusky World’s End Engagement Session about a year ago. I finally got to photograph them again at their beautiful Columbus Weekend wedding, which included a tour around Cape Ann from Rockport to Manchester and finally ending in Ipswich at their Crane Estate reception.
Megan and Chris rank up there on the list of my couples who have known each other the longest – they met in high school! It is always very endearing to see two people grow into adulthood together. So naturally we went back to the grounds of their old high school in Andover for their engagement photos, which also happened to be well-timed with some late fall beauty.
For their engagement session Brittany and Brandon brought me to one of their favorites places to walk and hike – World’s End in Hingham. We explored the trails and cliffs extensively, and even found some tidepools and little crabs. We photographed so much that we lost track of time, and also how far into the reservation we actually were. We ended up practically running back to our cars before they got locked in the World’s End parking lot. Luckily, we weren’t stranded there, but let’s just say the staff wasn’t too happy. It is so worth the visit because it’s a beautiful place, but word-to-the-wise, make sure to start walking back well before you need to!! :)
