World’s End Engagement Session | Christine and Jon

I’ve been to a number of the Trustees of the Reservations sites (the Crane Estate, Appleton Farms, and Ravenswood Park to name a few), but World’s End has been on my list for awhile. So when Christine suggested it for her and Jon’s engagement photos, I agreed with her in about two seconds flat. We started with the trees and meadows and finished on the bay, where we got some beautiful and extremely subtle light after the sun dipped below the horizon, and I was loving the moody blue tones as dusk met water.

Boston Engagement Photography | Emma and David

Emma and David are getting married next month in Costa Rica, but decided to get some engagement photos taken in Boston before they left. So we wandered around the Rose Kennedy Greenway and Boston Harbor last weekend, enjoying a beautiful fall afternoon on the water, and staying until the last lights of twilight were gone.

Joyelle! These photos are lovely & that location is the best, especially the bridge! I have a crush on the Boston harbor =) P.S. I’m a new follower, and I just wanted to say hi! -Stephanie

Thank you, Stephanie!! :) We lucked out because it ended up being really warm on Saturday – not at all like it is this week!

Anna and Shan at Boston City Hall

Anna, Shan, and I agreed that we’re probably in the small minority of people that like the exterior of Boston City Hall. The architecture, the clean lines, the windows – it is a treat for me to photograph there, especially when I’m photographing people who appreciate it as much as I do. So after Anna and Shan’s wedding at Boston City Hall, which they wanted to keep private, we spent some time photographing outside and in the Plaza.

Lauren and Desmond’s Nantucket Wedding

Lauren and I have a multitude of things in common. She and Desmond live in Philly, Dan and I used to live in Philly. She’s a yoga teacher, I love to do yoga. She’s a cyclist, I’m a cyclist. She’s a triathlete — okay, that’s where the similarities end, because I can’t swim. At any rate, I was super psyched to see her and Desmond again at their Nantucket wedding at the Wauwinet. And the unseasonably freezing cold temperatures that day proved to be nothing for a woman who is regularly jumping into freezing cold water, because she and Des make 45 degree beach portraits look like 65 degree beach portraits.

New Hampshire Lake Wedding | Amanda & Jim

This next wedding is a total charmer. When Amanda was first in touch with me, she told me that they wanted their wedding to be relaxing and peaceful, with understated elegance. And that’s exactly what they got, with a total of six guests, a good family friend as the officiant, and their dog Max as the ringbearer. The focus of their day was on their very lovely and private ceremony on a dock on Lake Winnipesaukee, followed by a boat ride around the lake where they toasted and cut their cake. My favorite part of the day was how honest and authentic it felt to who Amanda and Jim are. My second favorite part was their dog Max and how cute he was in his bowtie and doggie life vest.
