About Joyelle

I’ve been a wedding photographer in Boston since 2004, and I am absolutely in love with my job. I feel that it’s an honor to document one of the most important events between two people.

My approach to photographing a wedding is to combine aspects of documentary photography with aspects of lifestyle photography. I like to make things look real, but really beautiful. I shoot as the day unfolds, with minimal intrusion and interruption. I love to document real emotion while capturing simple moments and little details. I also incorporate an authentic sense of place into my work. In essence, my goal when you look back on the photos is to make you feel like you are reliving it all over again.

Besides photography, I am also an avid nature-lover and outdoor enthusiast. When I’m not photographing a wedding on a summer weekend, you can often find me on my bike around the Boston area, hiking a trail in the White Mountains, or hanging out with friends around the firepit in the backyard. I can’t live my life without coffee or NPR. I am obsessed with design and addicted to design blogs of all types. I love cooking and wine and exploring new restaurants.

My photo studio is in Cambridge, and I live in Arlington with my awesome husband and very dog-like cat. I am a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the New England School of Photography. I am fortunate to be surrounded with incredible family and friends. Thanks for stopping by!
