Joyelle West Photography is a Boston wedding photographer who brings a modern and artistic flair to Boston wedding photography. She is frequently commissioned as a Massachusetts wedding photographer but is available to photograph weddings through New England and beyond.
Due to all the crazy rain this spring, Amanda, Mike, and I had to reschedule their engagement session on multiple occasions over the last few weeks. Luckily, the third time was a charm and we finally got to photograph their session at Boston’s Arnold Arboretum. Congrats to two dear friends, I can’t wait to attend your wedding (as a guest!!) next year.
With my wedding season now in full swing, I’m looking forward to sharing all the wonderful couples and exciting places that I’m going to be photographing. I am kicking off May with an intimate ceremony at sunset on the beach at Plum Island. I’m photographing at several favorites where I’ve had weddings before, like the charming Willowdale Estate in Topsfield, the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, and Mills Falls on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.
Barns and farms are definitely represented, in The Barn at Walnut Hill in Maine, The Hawk Inn in Plymouth, Vermont, and the Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, Rhode Island. I’ll be shooting right near where I go hiking, at the Mount Washington Hotel in the White Mountains, and at the Killington Grand Hotel. I finally have an excuse to get back to Nantucket, with a fall wedding at the Wauwinet. Cape Cod is definitely on my agenda several times, one of them being the wedding of a woman who’s sister I photographed several years ago. I always love when I have photographed a couple and then I get the chance to photograph one of their siblings. I start to feel like a member of the family, like a cousin who gets to attend all the weddings.
I’m looking forward to the pig roast at the Overbrook House. At ceremonies being officiated by friends and family members. At photographing a family from France. At working at homes that have been in some of my clients’ families for generations.
The closest commute will be somewhere where I’ve wanted to photograph a wedding for a loooong time now – Habitat in Belmont – a gorgeous location and less than 3 miles from my house! And yes, Boston is represented, with a fabulous celebration planned at the Fairmont Copley Plaza.

I loved Jamie and Jon’s wedding in March. They started the day at Jon’s parents house for a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. In a tea ceremony, the bride and groom serve tea to their parents, aunts, uncles, and other relatives as a way of thanks, honor, and respect, and in return, they receive lucky red envelopes with gifts. After the tea ceremony, everyone headed to Boston for the ceremony and reception at the Mandarin Oriental. The entire day was filled with so much emotion, laughter, and tears, and it was wonderful getting to know Jamie, Jon, and their family and friends.

A photo from Marco and Gina’s first dance was accepted into the most recent WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association) photo contest. The WPJA is an international photography association, so I was honored to have placed in the contest. Thanks to the judges and congrats to the other winners as well!
